Getting Started with PromoOS

Everything you need to know to install PromoOS and run your first promotional campaign.

What is PromoOS?

PromoOS is a Shopify app for planning, managing, and deploying promotional campaigns. Build your promo calendar, automate scheduling, deploy live storefront blocks, and track campaign performance — all in one place.

What You Need

Requirements

An active Shopify store (any plan — Basic, Shopify, Advanced, or Plus)
Admin access to your Shopify store
A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)

Permissions PromoOS Requests

When you install, Shopify will ask you to approve these permissions:

•Read products & collections — To target specific items in your promos
•Manage discounts — To create and manage discount codes automatically
•Read orders — To measure promo performance
•Read themes — To display promotional content on your storefront

Installation (2 minutes)

Find PromoOS in the Shopify App Store
Search for "PromoOS" or "Promly" in the Shopify App Store.

Click Add app
This opens the permission approval screen in your Shopify admin.

Approve permissions
Review and approve the requested permissions. These are needed for PromoOS to work correctly.

You're in!
You'll be redirected to your PromoOS dashboard. Setup is complete.

Your First Promo in 3 Steps

Click "Create New Promo" from the dashboard

The promo builder will open and walk you through each step.

Fill in the basics

Give your promo a name, choose a type (Discount, BOGO, Bundle, Free Shipping, or Gift with Purchase), and set start and end dates.

Save as Draft or Schedule

Save as Draft to continue editing later, or Schedule to let PromoOS activate it automatically at the right time.

Pro tip: Schedule campaigns at least 1 hour in advance. PromoOS checks for due promos every 5 minutes, so your campaign goes live within 5 minutes of the scheduled time.
